Has your hair been damaged by sun, hair colouring, straightening or perming? As you probably already know most hair treatments don’t solve this problem. Micro Mist hair is a treatment that uses the power of water to penetrate deep into the hair. It swells the hair and enhances any treatments that you have had.

The micro mist system comes to us from Japan and had been over a decade in the making. The treatment is locked into the hair. Convenient steamers boil water at 100 degrees to create steam. However the height of this temperature often causes more damage to the hair than it repairs. The micro mist system is different as it doesn’t steam water; it uses ultra sound to generate mist and warms it in accordance to your hair type; keeping the temperature far below 100 degrees.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

The micro mist treatment has six main functions:

o Hot wind – for warming up

o Hot fog – for helping hair absorb nutriments via utilizing the energy generated through cavitations effect.

o Cold fog – for helping the hair cortex absorb nutriments by adapting the quantum technique

o Ozone – for sterilizing and disinfecting

o Aromatic remedy – purifying the hair with water

A treatment using the micro mist system usually lasts just over six minutes, in which time you have several minutes of warmth then a shot of cold, which is used to close the hair cuticles. This is how the treatment is locked into the hair. You walk out of the salon with silky smooth hair that can last between 7 and 10 days and a few weeks.

Out of the six main functions of the micro mist system the three main ones that you need to know most about are the following:

Deep penetration of the hair

Heating activates the molecular movement of treatment agents and water in hair.

At the same time, heated micro mist swells the hair and enhances treatment agents permeate deep into each hair.

Setting in place

Cooled air sent from the fan draws vaporized heat and rapidly soothes the molecular movement that has been activated by heat energy. This action reinforces fixation of treatment agents to the inside of damaged hair.

All over effect

By circulating a large quantity of mist in the hood where the temperature is excellently controlled, the entire hair evenly receives heat energy. Each hair gets a treatment effect and retains moisture, resulting in healthy and youthful hair.

The Micro Mist system repairs and rejuvenates your hair, giving it strength, suppleness and a longer lasting shine.

If you are hoping to take advantage of the great benefits the micro mist system has to offer then get into with your salon today as this treatment is unique to salons and can’t be done at home, unless you have over £2,000 spare that is! The micro mist system creates a smooth and relaxing sensation for the customer while at the same time provides effective treatment for dry and damaged hair. The micro mist system is said to be the most effective treatment for damaged hair so book your appointment today.

You can find a number of home laser hair removal kits available today. But before you purchase one of these kits you want to be aware of the dangers and possible negative side effects of these devices.

Most healthcare professionals have reservations about the quality of the home laser hair removal kits. There are certain considerations you might want to make before purchasing a home kit.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

1. Risk of Infection.

The first problem you might face if you decide to use a laser home hair removal kit has to do with infection. For the hair to be removed properly and permanently it has to be removed not only from the top of the skin but underneath at the root. If this process is done improperly it can lead to infection of the skin.

One of the alternatives to this home process is the professional clinic where the same procedure is done but done by a hair removal specialist. The specialist at a clinic has been properly trained in the process.

Laser home hair removal is more convenient it also comes with much higher risk of infection.

2. Skills Necessary to Operate Device.

Laser hair removal systems that you order online or from another source are sent to you with the false expectation that you have the necessary skills to operate the device. This is a hazardous assumption. Most people do not posses the steady hands that are required to operate the laser device. The removal process is very detailed and if someone tries it on themselves without proper training, the results could be infection, major skin irritation and even permanent scarring.

While there are no true guarantees, the risks associated with the removal of hair at a professional clinic are drastically lower. The hair removal specialists at clinics have been trained and can operate the laser hair removal device with the necessary skills to properly remove the hair without scarring or major irritation.

3. The Hair Removal Device.

Most of the laser home hair removal kits you will purchase online or from another source will not be as effective as the machines professionals use at hair removal clinics. The lack of effectiveness of the machines means that you will, more than likely, have to repeat the procedure several times to permanently remove the hair. This increases the risk of injury and can cause pain and frustration on the part of the user.

Although the home system may cost less than a visit to a professional hair removal clinic the negative aspects of the home system far outweigh any discrepancy in price. Using a machine at home that is less effective and more dangerous is not worth the risk simply because it may cost less.

Visiting a professionally hair removal specialist at a clinic will assuredly provide you with the results you desire without the high risk of infection, major irritation, and/or scarring.

Most people have unwanted hair, whether it’s on the legs, underarms or even on your face, permanent hair removal treatments can offer a relatively painless process of removing unwanted hair and its results can be far longer lasting.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

Hair removal treatment uses variable pulsed light technology (VPL), which is the most advanced intense pulsed light system available (IPL). It is sometimes misleadingly referred to as laser hair removal, however this is a completely different method. It can be used on any area of the body and unlike waxing and shaving, VPL largely reduces the chances of hair re-growth. With a number of treatments, the effects can be permanent meaning no more waxing, shaving, electrolysis or lasers.

Most women have probably experienced the excruciating pain of having a bikini wax or an underarm wax, which can then get worse if you’re unlucky enough to suffer from ingrown hairs. With VPL permanent hair removal, those problems can be a thing of the past.

So how does VPL work?

Bursts of light from the VPL/ IPL machine heat the hair follicles and make the root incapable of further hair growth. The reason you may need several treatments is that this only works if the hair is in the growth stage. Hair will be in one of three stages; growth, dormant or dead and your therapist will choose your treatment interval to provide the best chance of catching each follicle in its growth stage before the end of your treatment course. The treatment works really well on dark hair and some blond hair but unfortunately has no effect on red, white or grey hair.

The treatment is comfortable; at the most you might feel a hot pinprick sensation in the area being treated for a second. It is definitely the safest and most comfortable method of removing unwanted hair.

Generally speaking the darker, denser and thicker the hair is, the more redness you might experience, but this will all be calmed and soothed with cooling pads and aloe vera gel, so there is absolutely nothing to worry about no matter how extensive your hair problem is.

I would advise avoiding tans, both real and fake, because the paler the skin the better the results and it also reduces any risks. Darker skin should be tested for sensitivity prior to treatment because there is a small risk of hyper or hypo pigmentation (lightening or darkening of the skin). There are however no long term side effects for this treatment, so any changes in the skin will be short-lived and temporary. Most people can resume normal daily activities after leaving the clinic.

Finally, what is the difference between VPL/IPL and laser hair removal?

Laser treatment is restricted to only producing a single wavelength of light, whilst VPL/IPL uses a range of wavelengths specifically chosen as the optimum level for maximum absorption of the light energy by the pigment in your hair (melanin). VPL/IPL also has the unique ability to infinitely configure a series of micro pulses that will not only effectively treat fine, medium and coarse hair, but will do it safely without damaging your skin whether it is white, brown or somewhere in between. In fact, VPL/IPL is so safe it will actually rejuvenate your skin at the same time as removing the unwanted hair.

Look for a clinic that provides VPL/IPL permanent hair removal today and become a hair-free, younger looking summer beauty this season!

Looking for a unique place to get a tattoo? Or a place no one would ever see it unless you showed them? If so, an inner lip tattoo may be a good choice. Typically, a tattoo inside the mouth is found on the bottom inner lip. Until recently, inner lip tattoos were not sought by people, and are still not very common. Inner lip tattoos originated from a procedure by horse owners, who branded their names into their horse’s inner lip. There are many benefits to getting a tattoo inside your lip:

Hidden: An inner lip tattoo is not visible to people without it being shown to them, which is a benefit if your employer is not fond of tattoos. So if you want a special memory, and don’t want everyone who sees your tattoo asking questions about it, an inner lip tattoo is a good idea. Also, if your parents or significant other is a person who does not enjoy tattoos, they will never know you have it because it will be concealed.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

Design: Inner lip tattoos are limited to small designs or letters. Because there is not a large amount of space inside the lip, simple tattoos that do not require the tattoo artist to do a lot of strokes using the tattoo machine are necessary. This usually means that black tattoos are best. Names or words are becoming common designs people choose to get inside their bottom lip. Just because the tattoo has to be small and lack color, does not mean it can’t be unique and meaningful!

Price: Because the tattoo is confined to the inside of the lip, it must be small, so the price is usually reasonable. Details, such as color and design, which larger tattoos require, are costly. Luckily, mouth tattoos are compact and simple allowing you to get an affordable tattoo. A tattoo on your inner lip is an awesome way to hide a tattoo while still getting a memory that will last forever. A lip tattoo is a unique way to get a lasting memory that will not take up room on your skin, and leave more canvas (skin) for other tattoos. Good luck on your future inking adventures!

Every profession has tools of the trade, and the tattoo industry is no exception. All the ink, flash, stencils and needles in the world would be worthless without the tattoo gun. Your tattooist will definitely know what you’re talking about when you used the word “gun”, but it’s a generally thought of as an amateur term. Professionals usually just say “machine” or use the term “iron”.

The first tattoo machines where based on something Thomas Edison (that’s right, that Thomas Edison) invented in the year 1876 called the Autograph Engraver. The device was originally meant to be an engraving machine. The design was improved upon some years later by a man named Samuel O’Rielly who came up with and needle and rod system and ink reservoir. The modern day machine has evolved quite a lot since O’Rielly’s version. The first apparatus resembling the current model was so heavy; it was often mounted to the ceiling with a spring so that the majority of the weight was taken off the tattooist’s hand.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

The version used today allows for much more precision in depth, saturation, everything. In fact, the art of tattoo application has become so precise that dermapigmentation, or applying permanent cosmetics to the delicate skin of the face and eyelids is possible and popular. The gun works on an alternating current system, similar to a sewing machine. The needle moves between 80 and 150 times per second, speeding up the process, cutting down on skin irritation and allowing the artist to work without moving very much so that his hand remains as steady as possible.

The needles are soldered into tubes in all different numbers and arrangements. The purpose in having a variety of configurations is the same as a more conventional artist having more than one paint brush. Each one produces a different effect. Some are for outlining, some are for shading to varying degrees and some create a solid fill. The general mechanics of a tattoo gun are fairly simply. In fact, some inventive person could put one together at home with parts of things you probably have lying around the house. There are several very good reasons you should never, ever do this, injury and disease to name just two, but since when has that stopped everybody?

* An ink pen

* Guitar string

* A tooth brush, or something similar (you’ll see in a minute)

* The eraser from the top of a #2 pencil

* A small, battery operated motor, like what would be in a hand held cassette player

* Tape, or some sort of adhesive to hold it all together

* Some sewing needles

First you take four or five inches of guitar string and bend a little bit toward the end. Next, you remove the tube of ink from the pen. Cut it down to three or four inches long, then remove the brass ball at the end, making sure the opening created is large enough for a needle to pass through. Insert the needle into the tube. Then decapitate the toothbrush. Use a lighter, or some other flame to heat the plastic just until it’s soft enough to bend, and then do so in an L shape.

Then, use your adhesive of choice to join the tube/needle combo to the long end of the L. Gently push the eraser onto the motor’s shaft, getting it as centered as possible, then attach the motor to the short end of the L. Stick the bent end of the guitar string should be pushed (off center) into the eraser, and the other end should go through the tube and attached to the needle. The thinner the tube, the more control you will have over the gun. Now that you know how to manufacture a tattoo machine, DON’T!

A magnum is a tattoo needle with two rows, one on top of the other. They are stacked as you would stack soda cans laying on their side, four on the bottom and three on top for a seven magnum. The two rows are spread apart more than a round so the pigment dispersal is a little smoother. It would be like comparing a fine point pen to a magic marker. The little detailed stuff is for the pen while the magic marker is for larger jobs.

The magnums are made by soldering your needles in a row and laid out flat. Solder at the back, next use a single edge razor blade to weave the needles. One on top, one on bottom, then one on top, etc. Then with the razor in place another layer of solder is applied to hold this configuration. A stacked magnum is where they lay four down and solder them, then lay three down and solder those. Then solder the two layers together. This would be make a seven magnum stacked. Because they are closer then they are smaller, so a nine magnum stacked will fit in a seven magnum tube tip.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

Proper use of a magnum is at an angle. You want the magnum to lay flat on the skin, but lay it down so it can penetrates at as slight angle. If you try to use a magnum straight on the skin like holding it will pinch the client and stick in the skin causing the needle to jump. If the needle is flat on the skin then you need to elevate the eye loop till you have about a forty degree angle. You should drag a magnum, not push it. What this means is that you should pull the machine away from the tip of the tube, similar to driving a car in reverse. If you push the magnum forward it will have a tendency to go under the skin making it difficult for the needle to retract and move forward again.

Solid coloring with a magnum is very similar to coloring with a lining needle. You want to color in the circular motion but due to the magnum being wider like a paint brush you cover more area faster. Think of using a magnum like using three lining needle side by side to color. If you go slower then you will cause more damage to the skin. Pay attention to the texture of the skin by wiping away all the extra pigment while you tattoo. It takes practice but you can turn a magnum on its side to use the edge needles like a liner. This will make filling in close to the line work a lot quicker.

One way to practice using a magnum needle is to buy one of those large black markers that have the tapered tip. Practice using the marker at a flat angle to make a bold line, and then turn the marker to get a finer line. Just remember to go backward to simulate needle use.

Rosacea, also called Acne Rosacea is a very common skin condition characterized by a red face. Rosacea causes flushing of the face which eventually leaves permanently enlarged visible red blood vessels and capillaries, and a red faced appearance especially on the cheeks, nose and mid face. In time raised red bumps or acne lesions also occur and Rosacea can also affect the eyes, a condition called Ocular Rosacea. In some people, after many years, Rosacea can result in Rhinophyma, a profuse proliferation of excess skin on the nose, a condition immortalized by Jimmy Durante and Wally Fields, both movie actors who were afflicted with Rhinophyma.

Recently, the use of a new light therapy called IPL or Intense Pulsed Light has revolutionized the treatment of Rosacea. The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are very effective at closing down the enlarged blood vessels which cause the red face appearance that is seen in patients with Rosacea. IPL is gentler than laser treatments with less discomfort and no visible signs of treatment such as bruising which is so common after some laser treatments.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin illness affecting over 40 million Americans. The cause is unknown, but heredity and fair or light skin color are important pre-disposing factors. The signs of this condition are:

o	Facial Flushing-Flushing of the face is usually the first sign. Flushing is particularly likely to happen after eating spicy food, drinking alcohol and coffee, and during emotional stress.

o	Persistent Redness-The red faced appearance does not go away. It can look like sunburn that persists.

o	Acne Bumps and Pimples- In time red bumps, pustules and acne lesions appear. These bumps can be painful and do not respond to typical acne treatment.

o	Visible Blood Vessels on the Face-In time visible small red blood vessels are seen on the facial skin. They are most common on the nose, cheeks, and chin but are also seen on the forehead.

There are common triggers which can precipitate an outbreak and which can be avoided to help control outbreaks. Common triggers are:

-Sun Exposure

-Emotional Stress

-Hot Weather

-Wind

-Heavy Exercise

-Alcohol Consumption

-Hot baths

-Spicy Foods

-Irritating Skin Care Products

How Does IPL or Intense Pulsed Light Get Rid of the Red Face

IPL or intense Pulsed Light uses a bright flash of visible light to close down the blood vessels and capillaries which cause flushing and the red faced appearance. IPl uses a filter which only releases a specific color of light, one that is uniquely absorbed or picked up by the blood vessels of the skin, to hit the skin. Thus the IPL light beams only affect the dilated blood vessels on the skin and do not injure the normal skin. When the IPL light energy is absorbed by the dilated blood vessels, the dilated blood vessels are injured and close down. This removes the blood vessels, capillaries and the red appearance of the face. I use the Starlux IPL LuxGreen which utilizes the 650nm light range which is ideal for removing dilated blood vessels and reducing skin flushing. The results are truly remarkable.

The IPL is gentler than other commonly used lasers. Lasers often cause bruising and sometimes skin burns that can leave white marks on the face. These problems have limited the usefulness of the laser on the face and resulted in the IPL becoming the treatment of choice for this condition.

What Is the IPL Treatment Like?

IPL treatments are very quick, simple and relatively painless. Protective shields, like sunglasses, will be placed to protect your eyes. A soothing Gel will be placed on your skin for your comfort and to improve the effectiveness of the IPL treatment. We do not use a topical anesthetic, because it is not needed and can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment.

The IPL treatment head will be placed against your skin and a bright flash of light is triggered to treat the red areas. The whole face will be treated with a series of flashes. You will feel a small snap as the flash hits your skin, but it is very tolerable.

After the treatment, cold packs will be placed on the skin for your comfort. Your skin may look pink for an hour or so, but no bruising or very visible skin injury is seen, as often happens with laser treatments.

You will be able to return to work and your skin usually looks quite normal after a few hours.

When Will I See Results?

We look for and see a change or darkening of the flushed areas immediately after treatment. Some very tiny areas are closed during the first treatment.

However, larger areas and skin flushing gradually decrease over about 5 weeks after the IPL treatment. This gradual improvement is a gentler method than laser treatment, and takes time. This gentler approach avoids complications and is why the IPL method has become the preferred method.

For moderate to severe cases 3 treatments scheduled 5 weeks apart are required. This is because it is impossible to equally cover and close all of the affected areas during each treatment. As treatments progress there are fewer areas to treat and more complete removal is possible.

What Skin Care Products are Best for Rosacea Patients?

Avoidance of sun injury and other forms of skin inflammation is very important. A good non-comedogenic sun block is important. We avoid irritating creams such as Retin A, Tazorac and strong acid peels. Vitamin C Serum is soothing and it has anti-inflammatory properties that are very useful.

MetroGel is an essential component of any skin care program if you have flushing and dilated capillaries on your face. Obagi Skin Care’s new Rosaclear System combines several effective ingredients and is a very effective new skin care system for patients.

Where Can I Find IPL Treatments?

Board Certified Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons are the laser and IPL experts. You will need to search the internet and do your homework to find a board certified physician who offers laser and IPL services and has an interest in treating facial redness and acne.

You need a complete systemic approach which includes the IPL treatments, appropriate skin care, and medical management.

You are much more likely to find complete appropriate treatment in a doctor’s office. I advise against seeking these light treatments in Spas and medical Spas that do not have a doctor present. Not all IPL machines are the same, and those used in a board certified doctors office are likely to be more effective and more expertly used.

Do your homework and find a reliable specialist.

This will disable the cells from multiplying further. The cells will get destroyed and the possibility of them spreading and affecting other parts of the body will get nullified. This treatment can be classified as external beam radiation and internal beam radiation.

In the former, a machine outside the body will deliver the high energy beam to be focused on the tumor. In the later, a thin tube made of plastic will be inserted in to the body which will act as a passage for the transfer of radioactive material to the tumor.

Radiation therapy will be administered to the patient for an average period of six weeks on a daily basis. This treatment is painless and lasts only for a few minutes in every sitting. Different types of radiation treatment are:

• Palliative radiation: This aims at curbing the growth of cancer cells and reducing the pain associated with lung cancer. This is usually administered in the terminal stage of lung cancer when the aim is to reduce the pain than to treat the cancer. Often, this treatment is recommended if the cancer spreads to the spine or brain and causes harm on a much higher scale compared to the side-effects due to radiation therapy.

• Stereotactic radiation: This radiation therapy delivers high dosage of radiation directly to the tumor in the lung. The success rate of this surgery is more as compared to traditional surgery using incision. Elderly people or those suffering from other ailments are usually recommended this treatment.

• Proton radiation: A high dosage of radiation is delivered to the area housing the tumor. The advantage of this treatment over other radiation therapies is that it does not cause damage to the cells or tissues surrounding the tumor. Proton radiation causes fewer side effects compared to other forms of radiation treatments.

Side-effects of radiation therapy include inflammation in esophagus, radiation infections, pneumonitis, loss of hair, skin problems, radiation poisoning, vomiting, headache, nausea, and lack of appetite.

Toe hair is some of the most obnoxious hair on the human body. Especially for those who wear open toed shoes or sandals this hair can start to make your hair feet look like Frodo’s from Lord of the Rings. Removal of this hair can be a top priority of hair removal from your body. Here are a couple ways to remove this awful hair.

1.) Cut the hair on your toes – Hair on your toes can be cut fairly easily to a fairly short level. However, you can easily tell that there used to be long hairs there when you use scissors to cut your toe hair. If you are going to use this method, make sure you cut as close to the skin as possible.

Laser Hair Removal Machines

2.) Shave the hair on your toes – Shaving is a better option than cutting your toe hair, but can still be noticeable by the end of the day or the next day depending on how fast your hair grows. Most people choose this method to remove toe hair, but shaving every day can get old really fast.

3.) Hair removal cream – Hair removal cream works particularly well on toe hair compared to other parts of the body. It is relatively inexpensive and your hair will not grow back nearly as quickly as with shaving.

4.) Laser Hair Removal or Electrolysis – Removing your hair by laser is by far the best method to prevent hair growth on any part of your body. However, there is a significant cost associated with laser hair removal. If you are looking for a miracle cure that will make it so you no longer have hair on your toes than this is about as close as you are going to get. However, for those of us that can’t afford expensive laser treatment, hair removal cream can be almost as effective. It is at least worth comparing the price of associated with laser treatments.
